A wild FRUIT JAM appeared!

Steve gets his mitts on a CircuitPython board that he's wanted for ages, and plops some words into Ghost to celebrate.

A wild FRUIT JAM appeared!
More Mandelbrot

Back in an earlier post I was annoyed about the impossibility of getting hold of an Adafruit Fruit Jam here in the UK. When the lovely folks at Pimoroni got some in stock I bought one before the ink on the notification email had a chance to wonder why it was ink. In typical Pimoroni fashion, it was with me the next day.

An annoyance followed. It's supposed to have some screws and a little speaker for assembly, neither of which were in the box. That's not Pimoroni's fault but I dropped them a message regardless, and their Support Ninja (official job title) Hayley has been the MVP sorting out a compatible replacement.

Now, I could use my own screws to assemble the top plate and main board sandwich (the speaker I can't do anything about, the connector's too small compared to what I have on hand). I could do. Or I could 3D print the case from the files that Adafruit provide.

The photo gives the game away. And the colourway screams Jupiter Ace at me as well.

Seeing as I had the code next to me, I had to do a Mandelbrot again, but at a higher resolution. And on my better mini monitor as well, a 10.1" one. It's dead nice. Still takes a long time to do but, pfffft. I've run similar code on a Spectrum in BASIC and it took a lot longer to do a lot less!

That's all. Just a quickie this time.
